The Wolverine – Review by Grandpa Jack
August 2, 2013
Dir: James Mangold
Starring: Hugh Jackman.
So I took Suzy to see Wolverine at nine am on the dot. The cinema wasn’t even open but I remember, I checked, the paper said the session started at ‘Nine A M’ thank you very much. I was so furious that when the young boy (who looked far too young to be working in a cinema) eventually opened the roller-door I demanded to see the manager to complain.
“I am the manager.” He told me.
“Oh you’re the manager?” I said.
I told him it was disgraceful to make us wait three minutes in the cold when the movie session was meant to begin at NINE A M!
I accidently stubbed my toe with my walking stick as I wasn’t watching properly. I yelped in pain and was too distracted to continue, but boy did I want to! I bought the tickets but then he charged us full price!
“We’re seniors!” I said to him.
He said sorry and fixed the mistake but I was so angry, stupid kids these days. No respect.
I thought I’d treat Suzy to a choc-top. Back in the day we used to love those things before a movie. We used to have them at the drive-in theatre. You might not know what those are, they’re before your time. I remember watching North by Northwest at the old bankstown drive-in. Choc top in hand. Ah, those were the days.
“Two dollars thanks.” He says to me.
“Two dollars?! But we’re seniors!” I yelled at him.
I remember when those things were thirty cents! I looked over to Suzy but she was already asleep so we just went home.
